The Town of Bracebridge is responsible for the operation/maintenance of 19 cemeteries that represent historical connections to various smaller communities within the Town’s boundaries.
The Town is undertaking a comprehensive study to develop a Cemetery Master Plan to guide the future development, operation, care, and maintenance of Bracebridge Cemeteries. This study will enable the Town to understand the community’s interment and memorialization needs and to ensure there are sufficient products and services to serve Bracebridge families. LEES + Associates, a cemetery specialist consulting firm, has been commissioned to execute the study through a collaborative process with the Town staff, stakeholders, and the public.
This master plan will provide a clear set of recommendations to guide Council and staff in making decisions to ensure the appropriate quantity and mix of interment inventory and cemetery services is provided to meet the needs of the Bracebridge community.
To achieve the project objectives, it is essential to encourage participation from stakeholder groups and the general public throughout the early and late stages of the process. Providing effective and meaningful engagement will help identify the communities’ priorities. LEES+Associates has proposed an effective and pragmatic consulting program that will be used to gather meaningful and respectful feedback.
