Background

This year, Bracebridge Transit is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. Since launching in 2016, “Wave” Transit has helped residents, visitors, students, seniors, and workers stay connected to the places and services that matter most. Over the past decade, the service has grown into an important part of daily life in Bracebridge, supporting accessible, reliable, and affordable transportation throughout the community.

Conventional transit service was introduced on August 29, 2016, and Bracebridge Mobiliy launched on January 1, 2017. Since then ridership has continued to increase and service brings riders to work, school and play.

In 2019, the Town of Bracebridge engaged Left Turn Right Turn Limited (LTRT) to assist in a review of the Town’s transit services, both the conventional and specialized service, in order to provide direction for Bracebridge Transit that best reflects the needs, values and priorities of the community through a five-year plan.

The focused and detailed evaluation of the Town’s transit system helped enhance quality service of Bracebridge Transit and Bracebridge Mobility.

Since then, transit service has continued to grow and it's time to take a nother look at how transit is performing in Bracebridge. Community feedback will be used to make recommendations for the on-going improvement of Bracebridge Transit.
